Triumph riders can save £40 off the cost of the IAM RoadSmart Advanced Rider Course, taking the price from £149 to just £109! Totally4bikers were instrumental in the negotiations that instigated this deal.

You maybe enthusiastic about riding, enjoy a challenge or would like to develop your skills on two wheels. It’s all about providing you with the know-how, experience and understanding so you can enjoy riding in all environments and quickly adapt to situations as they happen.

You will learn a series of techniques and skills to develop awareness of your bike, the road and your surroundings.

Identifying the essential information in any situation and learning how to apply this to ensure you chose the right position on the road. ride at the appropriate speed, select the right gear and accelerate where appropriate is all part of advanced riding. It may sound simple enough, but applying this knowledge can make a huge difference.

Sign up and you’ll receive a welcome pack and course manual, followed by an introduction to your local IAM RoadSmart group. Our riding mentors will accompany you on a number of observed rides.

I’m a much better rider now, It’s good fun, something to get your teeth into and I’ve been shown some amazing roads and how to handle them.

Each training ride lasts a couple of hours and you’ll focus on specific to develop across a wide range of techniques and scenarios.

You maybe asked to make a small contribution to you local group observer’s fuel costs. The amount varies by IAM group. When you’re ready, you’ll take the advanced test.

Independent research has shown 70% of those who received coaching showed significantly better skills in key areas such as position, motorway riding and hazard anticipation.

You’ll learn about riding at night, how snow or ice can affect handling, and motorway riding.

The test takes around 90 minutes and covers 30-40 miles along a variety of roads including city, country and motorways. You’ll negotiate hazards using the techniques you’ve developed and will need to show confident, safe riding, optimum road positioning and observation.
